💛Find Your Level 5...💛
The Beloved and I have really appreciated the gift of so much quiet and peace in our lives, and we found ourselves a tad disappointed when more vehicles began racing up and down the motorway ~ when queues at McDonald’s were 2 km down the street ~ when fast food takeaway places were closed by the police due to the extreme queues and inability of people to continue remaining in safe space.
Wow, so not what we were expecting.
So we decided to take our “retreat” a step further… by adding in some water fasting. We've laughingly christened it "Level 5".
All of a sudden life just got that much easier… no more trips to the grocery store / place online deliveries… no more meal preparation… no more dishes / pots / pans to do… no more clean-up. How delightful!
Society is so fixated on food, isn’t it? Not just the frenetic, have-to-have-it-now McDonald’s queues, but think about the every day food that gets consumed. From the first beverage in the morning through the meals (3+), plus the snacks, and add in the cups of tea plus bikkies “just because”… it really is so joyful to release all of that, and just BE.
We’ve completed four days as I’m writing this: first day was easy as, second day saw fatigue and headache as the body shifted from glucose to ketones, day three found us in the midst of a chilly rainy day, completely content to read, chat, and play with the Jaguar.
And day four has been almost astounding: the amount of energy available is tremendous! We shifted some fruit trees, took a romantic bush bath, back to do another project, followed by another lovely bush bath. We feel lighter, healthy, content, and completely tranquil.
Here’s what Dr Gabriel Cousens says about fasting:
”I often observe in fasting participants that by four days of fasting, concentration seems to improve, creative thinking expands, depression lifts, insomnia stops, anxieties fade, the mind becomes more tranquil, and a natural joy begins to appear. It is my hypothesis that when the physical toxins are cleared from the brain cells, the mind-brain function automatically and significantly improves and spiritual capacities expand."
Inasmuch as our lifestyle is filled with grateful abundant health, we felt ready to really solidify this marvellous gift of stillness in our bodies. And because we’re both habitual fasters ~ really because we enjoy the profound rest it gives our organs ~ it felt a perfect time to add this into our life protocol right now.
No physical hunger pangs; think we’re probably past that point now. It really is incredible how long the body can go without food… easily 30 days. My pranic friends know the value of breath work, and earthing, and sungazing ~ and their knowing that no food is required in their bodies is testament to how miraculous our bodies really are.
We are definitely in ketosis ~ the metre read 3.7 this morning. Just another marker for us to gauge our process and progress.
Energy feels well channelled; we rest as that requirement shows up, and move with a steady stream of energy as it’s needed.
Colours are heightened; sound is more pronounced. This time it’s become more like a deep walking meditation, where because there’s less distraction, more becomes available.
I’m unclear how long we’ll continue, and in reality it doesn’t really matter. Our larger appreciation of becoming more aware, more conscious of each life process has created a deep wellspring of joy.
